Winter Adventures Jackson Hole

Some say winter in Jackson Hole is like nothing else on earth, and we agree! The scenery is majestic, the snow sparkles and the attractions are diverse.  You’ll have more to look forward to than the best skiing in the lower 48!  This page highlights the adventures not to miss on your winter holiday.  These activities are for fun-lovers of all ages, experience levels, and budgets.  Let our complimentary concierge service help you plan your adventures of a lifetime!

Please call Jackson Lodging Co. today at 307-734-2404, to buy lift tickets, make adventure reservations, or get a local’s perspective.  We hope to hear from you!

Dogsledding Tours
Each winter Jackson Hole is host to the International Pedigree Sled Dog Race, which draws visitors and racers from all over the world.  If you are not planning on entering the race, you can enjoy your own dogsled experience here in Jackson.  Whether you prefer to sit back and take in the scenery or learn how to mush the pack your self, dog sledding offers picturesque views of the Teton wilderness.  Our concierge will help you pick the perfect tour for you and your family ranging from a full backcountry experience to soaking in the Granite Hot Springs

Snowmobiling
Jackson Hole is home to the famous World Championship Snowmobile Hill Climb; an up hill race covering 1,500 vertical feet!  This race is fun for participants and observers alike.  If your trip does not include this spring time weekend race, we can offer you plenty more fun snowmobiling around our valley and more.  Snowmobiling tours give you the option to travel through Yellowstone National Park to see the frozen waterfalls, Old Faithful Geyser and a variety of wild animals. Guided trips also include hot springs adventures and also high mountain passes with backcountry lodges.  There really is an adventure for everyone for this unique activity.

Snow Coach Tours in Yellowstone
One of the best ways to visit Yellowstone National Park while enjoying the comforts of a warm van is a Snow Coach Tour.  These tours offer a relaxing option to view the scenery in a group setting with your guide leading the way.  These guides are some of the most knowledgeable valley residents and will provide you with all the information regarding the history, geological formation and conservation facts you could ask for.

Snowshoe Tours
Hike in the snow, up hills, and off trails on your own pair of snowshoes.  Enjoy a day, half day, or combination trip that will teach you more about our area with a knowledgeable guide.  The guides of these tours are experienced naturalists that will lead you on snowshoes through the Bridger Teton Wilderness, in Grand Teton National Park, or on Teton Pass.  The trips will be set up to meet your desired areas and activity level.  This can be a great experience for the whole family!

Skiing
Jackson has earned the reputation of the best skiing in the lower 48 states for good reason.  There is plentiful terrain for every type of skier, from beginner to advanced, on piste and off.  With three resorts to choose from your ski days will be full of turns.

Jackson's newest resident - the Aerial Tram came on board at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in December of 2008! In just 9 minutes, the tram glides 4,130’ vertical rise to the top of Rendezvous Mountain.  Hop on the tram and ski down the fresh snow, or grab your coat and camera and enjoy the ride – either way the views are not to miss.

Powder skiing is what comes to mind when thinking of a winter vacation in Jackson Hole. We hope you enjoy Jackson Hole's backcountry by heli-skiing, hiking Teton Pass or skiing out of bounds at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort!  Let us help you connect with your perfect location and guide.

Nordic skiing is one of the fastest growing winter sports.  We have great guides and a nordic gear shop that will outfit you with all you need to cruise on a groomed track or break trails around the Valley.

Sleigh Rides on the National Elk Refuge
The Jackson Hole National Elk Refuge is one of only 545 active elk refuges in the United States today.  These trips in wagons or sleighs allow you to get up close and personal with these magnificent animals.  Often you will see Bald Eagles and Foxes as well.

Tubing and Ice Skating
Fun for all ages, the Snow King Mountain has something for everyone.  Evening snow tubing, ice skating, local hockey games, and down hill skiing are just a few of the offerings.  We highly recommend picking one activity here.
